The Multivariate Statistical Analysis of Wool and cashmere

摘要：

The characteristic mode of fiber scales is the main basis of animal fibers which identify effectively. It is difficult to distinguish wool from cashmere with our eyes. In the paper, it is studied the Fiber Diameter, Squama Height and Diameter-height Ratio characteristics of ten kinds of wool and cashmere fiber. Using the methods of statistics and analysis, this paper researches the Fiber Diameter, Squama Height and Diameter-height Ratio of these ten kinds of wool and cashmere fiber, collected under the optical microscope, the result shows that the Fiber Diameter, Squama Height and Diameter-height Ratio parameters have much difference in their characteristics of distribution. In other words, not all of them are in accordance with the Gaussian distribution.
