Study on LWT De-noising of Apple Image

When computer vision is applied to apple quality detection and automatic grading, the images from the sensors always have mass of noises, and it may affect the flowing grading works accuracy. Image de-noising based on LWT(Lifting Wavelet Transform) is studied, the noise type of apple image is analyzed, the LWT de-noising combined with the bivariate shrinkage function (BSF) with local variance estimation is proposed, and the research on apple image is carried out. The results indicate that this method can reduce noises, and at the same time, can keep the details of the apple image.
