Image Fusion Based on the M-band Nonsampled Contourlet Transform
This paper gives a design method of the M-band nonsampled Contourlet transform, called M-NSCT. Firstly, M-band nonsampled pyramid transform satisfying perfect reconstruction condition is designed by cascading 2-band non- sampled filter banks. Then, M-band frequency partition is realized by setting the cutoff frequencies of passband and stop-band of each cascaded filter. The high-frequency parts are decomposed more finely by using nonsampled directional filter bank. The designed M-NSCT has much finer frequency decomposition as well as higher redundancy. Numerical experiments show that the fusion method based on the proposed M-NSCT has achieved better objective quality and subjective quality than Contourlet and NSCT.
