The modified particle swarm optimization algorithm and its application in three dimensional slope stability analysis
The Non Uniform Rational B-Splines and Ellipsoidal body are adopted to yield the potential slip body respectively in three dimensional slope stability analysis, the factor of safety of the potential slip body is obtained by simplified Janbu method. The critical slip body having the minimum factor of safety can be gotten by the modified particle swarm optimization algorithm, in which only several particles of generation update their positions under each iterative step. The stability of typical soil slope is performed by the method proposed this paper and the results obtained are satisfactory.
