The Algorithmic Research of Satellite Identification Based on Finding Angle Table
Based on some analysis of the orientation of the principal axes, this paper proposes a fast and robust algorithm for axial symmetry satellite identification. According to the definition of the orientation of the principal axes, we analyze its nature in 2-D and 3-D space, and establish relationship between the orientation and the attitude angle. Then we use the orientation as the eigenvector to index the axial symmetry satellite. The indexing process reduces the number of images which need to match exactly, and establish a Candidate Library. Finally, satellite target is identified by shape feature and temple matching in the Candidate Library. The identification result from simulated data is presented, the satellite identification algorithm in this paper is effective to reduce the matching range and has high correct identification rate under the arbitrary view for axial symmetry satellite.
