A Lossless Data Compression Method Based on Integer Lifting Wavelet Transforms
Data compression is a key step for improving data transmission and memory efficiency. A method of lossless data compression based on integer lifting wavelet transforms is proposed. Transform Formulas of integer lifting wavelet transforms with interpolating subdivision principle is given and the lossless data compression flow is described. Values and energies distribution characteristics of original data and wavelet coefficients are researched. Data energy is congregated in the low frequency part via wavelet transform. At the same time, energy is congregated around few wavelet coefficients and more small wavelet coefficients are produced. Consequently, the purpose of improving lossless data compression rate is reached. Values and energies distribution characteristics and advantages of the lossless data compression method are validated by simulation.
