The Design of Intelligent Function Generator Based on FPGA

This paper has carried on the overall design to the system. To introduce the main modules of the system function and D / A converter, the paper uses VHDL language and the MAX + PLUS Ⅱ simulation software to design six kinds of software modules corresponding to waveform and the overall system block diagram. Since the digital signal exported from the FPGA has converted into analog signal through D / A converter, the chip select signal call the corresponding software modules to work, and the oscilloscope exports corresponding waveform. In order to verify the correctness of the waveform, this paper has done some system performance tests, and achieved the expected result. This function generator produces six kinds of waveform, which are sinusoidal wave, square wave, triangle wave, increasing ramp, descending ramp and wave of the ladder. Using the analog switch to achieve the selection and control of the output waveform, the function generator becomes intelligent.
