Self-localization System Using AOA for Anti-helicopter Minefield
Smart mine is a kind of new concept ammunition. The minefield can improve the capability locating and tracking the low flying helicopter by several mines working cooperatively. Awareness of the physical location for each mine is required by the anti-helicopter minefield. In this paper, under the condition that all mines are capable of detecting angles of the acoustic signal from the neighboring mine by using the acoustic microphone array. By a simple transform, the triangulation problem is transformed a simplified trilateration problem, which shows how AOA capability of the mines can be used to derive position information. We show that even with inaccurate AOA measurements and a small number of beacon mines, the proposed approach exhibits very good accuracy for the estimation, and achieve better coverage.
