The nonlinear characteristic analysis of giant magnetostrictive actuator based on ezperiment

Based on the experiment study of giant magnetostrictive actuator(GMA) which applied in noncircular turning process, the function among the current, the axis-direction position of giant magnetostrictive material(GMM) and magnetic fields intensity is established. Combined with the function, the nonlinear dynamics model and differential equation of the GMA are established by taken the mandril as the research object. The relationship between current and displacement at different frequency are studied, and the effects on hysteresis loops in different bias magnetic field and inner damp are discussed. The results indicate that the relationship between output displacement and input excitation current forms hysteresis loop, and the excitation frequency has distinct effect on its area and loop swing trend position, and there are resonance and anti-resonance characteristics. And the bias magnetic field and inner damp have great effect on the hysteresis loop. Meanwhile, by compared with the hysteresis loop in the case of using the linear expression between magnetic fields intensity and the current, the correctness of fitting relationship in this paper has been proved, and the deficiency of existing formula has been indicated.
