Simulation on the Lightning Protection for the Power Supply System of Based on PSCAD/EMTDC
The electromagnetic transient model of transmission lines striken by lightning is built by the simulation software PSCAD/EMTDC. Taking the 10kV power supply lines of the inner network as the research object, a large quantity of simulating calculation about the overvoltage and the lightning withstand levels (LWLs) was carried out when the towers or conductors of transmission lines were striken by lightning. According to the reality of the 10kV lines in the field, researches on the comprehensive lightning protection measures to pertinently increase the LWLs of inner power supply network in the Base were carried through, and the LWLs of the weak parts in the lightning prone sections and the entrance lines of transformer substations were enhanced.
