Design of Real-time Display System Based AVR Microcontroller

The LCD and keyboard are used as display pieces of instrumentation commonly. But the peripheral interface circuit has a relatively complex character when use the MCS 51 single-chip to drive. So, this paper introduces a real-time display system which takes the AVR series as control chips and SMC1602 as liquid crystal displays. In the paper, the specific circuit is given in which SMC1602 liquid crystal display module and the keyboard module interface with the AVR single-chip. And the programming method is given, too. This circuit is easy to implement, while it has a strong development capacity. This design can be used in many apparatus which need display.
