Delay-dependent stability criterion for neutral systems

Delay-dependent stability for systems with neutral, discrete and distributed delays is discussed in this paper. Based on a new Lyapunov functional, a new delay-dependent stability criterion is devised which is formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). For the criterion involves two free matrices which can be chosen arbitrarily, the maximum delay value can be changed by taking different free matrices. Numerical examples are given to illustrate that the proposed approach is effective and is less conservative than previous ones.
