Design of the Magnetostrictive Transducer for the Boiler Tube in Power Plant
In order to improve the inspection efficiency for boiler tubes, a nondestructive testing method based on magnetostriction was proposed, the effects of such excitation parameters as the excitation signal frequecncy, pulse cycles and the bias magnetic field density on the tranducer performance were mainly studied, and some artific -ial notches and blind holes made on the tube were detected by L(0,2) mode guided waves to verify the transducer detection sensitivity to different types of defects. The experimental results indicated that the magnetostrictive sensor was effective and reliable to detect such flaws as corrosion, erosion and cracks.
