Simulation and analysis on the imaging effect of space-based optical sensor
Many factors on image effect have been analyzed, this paper tries to put forward a new way to evaluate and simulate imaging effect of space-based optical sensor synthetically. Firstly, on the basis of comparing each model, this paper pays more important on two kinds of models such as MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) model and PSF (Point Spread Function) model, and the advantages and disadvantages of these two models are given; as a result, MTF model is decided as the mathematical model of space-based optical sensor in this paper. Secondly, according to the Theory of Linear Filter, in which the optical sensor can be regarded as a linear space-time unchanged system, so the MTF models for each components of the optical system, mainly contain the optical system, the photoelectric detector, have been constructed. Since these components math models reflect the attenuation of image detail, we can analyze the imaging process of optical sensor by using the Theory of Linear Filter. Thirdly, this paper concluded and analyzed the main factors which affect image quality, then find out that out of focus and image-smear are the main reasons that make the MTF decline. Then the amount of off-focus caused by the temperature and gravitation mainly and image-smear caused by the satellite flats forward flight and its pitching, rolling and sheering are analyzed and the formulas of these influences to cause MTF decline are given. Finally, according to the Theory of Fourier Transformation, on the basis of each mathematical MTF models of optical sensor, some simulations of imaging process of optical sensor have been complied. With the image simulation process and the results of simulation, the influence on final imaging performance related to transmission and imaging components for different optical sensor has also been analyzed.
