The Dynamic Calibration of PVDF Sensor and Its Application to Measurements in Shock Waves Induced by Irradiation

PVDF (Polyvinylidence fluoride), as a new type of piezoelectricity material, is highly sensitive to the compressive stress. In the paper, the dynamic calibration of PVDF has been performed with SHPB device. The results show that it has good linear property from 10 to 100Mpa, and its dynamic sensitive coefficient is 33.5 pc/N. The applications of PVDF sensors to measurements in shock induced by pulsed electron beam were presented also. When electron beam energy flux is in the range of 216 J/cm2 to 340 J/cm2, the peak stresses of thermal shock wave in the composite B varied from 31MPa to 43MPa.
