Using Displacement Follower to Measure the Rotating Angle of Cylinder of Larger Diameter

This paper presents a new non-contact method by which the rotating angle of larger cylinder can be measured. This method is based on the generally used displacement detector-the displacement follower. A newly additional function to this instrument has been developed by this method. The key technics of this method is to utilize a usually non measurement signal of the displacement follower. This paper introduces the principle, the realization and the utilization outcome of this method. It has been proved that not only is the method practical, but the operation process of measurement is quite convenient.
