Terahertz Emitter Based on Passively Mode-locked Femtosecond Fiber Laser
Take Femtosecond Fiber Laser as the pump resource makes Terahertz detection system miniaturization and industrialization to be possible. It discusses a method to generate Terahertz emitter based on passively mode-locked femtosecond fiber laser through photoconductive way. In order to improve the stability of radiation source, it started from mode-locked equation through analyzing the effect caused by pump power to lasers stability with numerical method, and then got the stable steady-state output range of maximum input pump power under base-step pulse repetition frequency. It also took other technologies to ensure the performance of the system, such as taking erbium-doped optical fiber as gain medium and high-reliability laser diode as pump laser and adopting well-designed resonant cavity to improve resources stability. It even employees chirped pulse amplification technology and increases effective core area to raise the output pulse energy. The experiment shows that the design is not only practical, but also laying theoretical foundation and providing experimental evidence for further optimizing a design of high output power, small-size and stable THz emitter.
