Research on Super Capacitor for Recycling Regenerating Energy in RTG Cranes Based on the Method of Fuzzy-PI Control of Power Servo System

In this paper, Fuzzy-PI control of power servo system with feedforward information is put forward to control super capacitor group to receive regenerative energy of the Rubber Tired Gantry Crane (RTG) based on its actual controlling state. In this controlling method, deviation and its variation rate of DC bus voltage are used as inputs, and charging current of super capacitor group is used as output. When the deviation varies, Fuzzy control of power servo system is switched on to achieve that the deviation variation rate can become zero ASAP; when the control is close to end, the imitation of human intelligent PI control is then switched on to avoid the overshooting caused by capacitors over fast charging. And the feedforward information is detected and introduced into the controlling system to improve the dynamic response characteristics and to minimize the stacking energy in mid-capacitor of the DC bus.
