Equivalent Static Load Method Application in Suspension Lower Control Arm Dynamic Response Optimization
In this paper, we take a front axle lower control arm as research object and the front suspension multi-body dynamics subsystem which includes the flexible control arm is built in HyperMesh. The dynamic loads for suspension multi-body dynamics subsystem are derived from the whole vehicle multi-body dynamic model under certain road conditions. We do shape optimization to control arm using equivalent static load method. 14 shape variables are built and the maximum stress values are minimized in the whole dynamic loads process with the mass constraints.
