High Efficiency Control of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives
In this paper, a current control strategy is proposed for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor drives to improve efficiency by minimizing the controllable losses. The optimal current is deduced based on the accurate mathematic model of interior permanent magnet synchronous machine considering the controllable loss which consists of the copper loss and the iron loss. The armature winding resistance represents the armature copper loss, the iron loss is represented by the iron loss resistance which can be obtained by experimentation. The operating characteristics controlled by the high efficiency control algorithm are examined in detail by computer simulations.
