The Method of Using the Geometrical Characteristics of Pictures to Track Targets
According to the tracking of movable objects with a camera, the paper put forward a method by which we can track objects with the geometrical shapes of the objects. In fact the method is to keep the geometrical shapes of the objects by set up a template of object. Then we use the template to acquire the new position of the object by matching the next frame, simultaneously update the object template, and then we match next frame, locate the objects position and update the template, then dispose of next frame in the similar way. So the matching of picture and renewal of object template will be carried on in turn. Opposite to the method using color tracking, this method has stronger anti- interference and accurate fixed position features, for its requisition to initial conditions is not high and it is not sensible to the variation of illumination conditions and objects shapes. Experimental results have confirmed that the proposed method is efficient to track objects and can real-time track the movable objects and locate the objects position accurately.
