Handheld System Solution with Mobile Auto Focus CMOS SoC Image Sensor

Auto focus feature becomes more and more popular in camera phone market and handheld device market. How to build market competitive system architecture to port the professional camera solution to mobile platform is an interesting and challenging subject. Based on the introduction of the concepts of CMOS SoC sensor, auto focus mechanism and its system solutions, the paper has further deep dive for the SoC application processor based camera phone system solution. The paper focuses on the MIPI interface, the phone solution with application processor and how the mobile SoC application processor solution and the cost effective mobile auto focus SOC image sensor feature impact each other.
