A Synchronous Data Acquisition System Based-on PC104-plus

This paper provides a synchronous data acquisition system based on PC104-plus bus. The system consists of stacked sampling cards plugged into PC104-plus bus in industrial personal computer and the monitoring software of host computer. Every card acts as a basic module which has four analog channels with differential inputs, sixteen digital input channels and sixteen digital signal output ports, meanwhile with one audio signal input channel and one audio output channel. The card controlled by ARM7 MCU has tunable sample rate varying from 0 to 100Ksps and four amplify degrees. To decrease input signal noise, the card has tunable digital filters which would set bandwidth correspond to sample rate. All the four analog signals are converted synchronously to 16-bit digital signals. In the cases of many cards stacked in PC104-plus bus, all the analog signals are sampled synchronously with time difference within two nanoseconds, which compose a multi-points synchronous sample system. The analog data can be stored in system or be played back to an audio output port.
