Study on Design Evaluation of Recoil and Counterrecoil Mechanism of Guns Based on Virtual Prototype Technology

Recoil system is a core part of guns system, and guns performance depends largely on it. The significance of design evaluation of recoil system is introduced, and virtual prototyping model of guns is established. Three indexes that denote performance are brought forward, and the effects of design parameters on performance indexes are studied based on relative sensitivity analysis method. Thus design evaluation of recoil system is converted into evaluation of its performance indexes, and quantitative design evaluation of recoil system is realized. The simulation and evaluation results suggest the feasibility and superiority of design evaluation with virtual prototype. Finally, the perspective of virtual prototyping technology applied in armament and key emphases of future work are presented.
