Study on Performance of Vendor-Oriented e-Supply Chain

In the traditional supply chain, suppliers and retailers pay transaction cost. In the vendor-oriented electronic-supply chain(e-supply chain), only retailers pay a commission to third-party information service providers, but no other transaction costs. Compared the profits of the traditional supply chain with e-supply chain in both centralized and decentralized control structure, the following conclusions are gotten : there is “double marginalization in e-supply chain, and the e-supply chain achieves the maximum profits in centralized control structure. When the commission rate of retailers is smaller, the quantitative indicators of retailers and suppliers in e-supply chain are better than the traditional supply chain, therefore, rational suppliers and retailers will choose e-supply chain. Finally, the papers conclusions have been verified by numerical examples.
