Supply Chain Management and Operational Performance: An Ezploratory Analysis of ASEAN Automotive OEM Suppliers
This study uses confirmatory factor analysis to reduce ten prevailing supply chain management (SCM) practices of ASEAN automotive OEM suppliers into three SCM constructs. Next, hierarchical cluster analysis was used to classify the data into low and high performance groups, and multiple linear regression was used to examine the relationships between the three constructs and operational performance. Our analysis suggests that SCM practices of the respondents can be reduced to three SCM constructs, high performance firms focus more on their SCM practices than low performance firms, and supply chain integration and information sharing are positively related to operational performance. Consistent with similar studies in advanced countries, facility location does not affect performance among ASEAN automotive OEM suppliers.
