Application of Risk Matriz on Logistics Operations —— Analysis Based on Chinese Enterprises
Risks have existed in the whole process of logistics operations; some may cause losses and some may reduce the business revenue or even lead to bankruptcy. To achieve double-win, it’s important for logistics outsourcing enterprises to minimize risks and reduce risk impacts. It’s also important for the contract-issuing party and the contractor to effectively and efficiently predict, prevent and control risks. Risk matrix is an effective risk management method of projects; however, it needs to be revised in logistics operation management. In practice, there are much more risks in logistics operation than that in a project which will lead to too many risk ties; therefore, the traditional risk can not apply. This paper extends the traditional risk matrix and adds an “Attention item. It also creatively filters the risk factors and develops a first and second-grade index system. Later, we apply the revised empirical test model to logistics outsourcing operations of BB-HB (anonymous company names) and summarize five steps for risk matrix analysis. The findings provide some significant hints on risk analysis and risk prediction, prevention and control for logistics-related enterprises.
