Research Issues on Available to Promise & Order Promising

摘要：

Available to Promise (ATP) and Order Promising(OP) is the cutting-edge issue in supply chain, that has the important influence on the performance of supply chain system, especially on the customer service level and costs. We first review the emerging literature on ATP&OP. Then the principles of ATP&OP are described, the basic allocation rules of ATP and the ATP-based order promising process are introduced, followed by various examples from APS project in ASB company. Lastly, some future research directions on ATP&OP are concluded, such as the flexible allocation policy of ATP and multi-dimensional model of order promising based on allocated ATP. The study will replenish the philosophy of ATP and order promising, and the application of academic achievements in ATP and order promising will improve the order fill rate and customer service level, reduce the costs, and then strengthen international competitiveness of Chinese companies.
