Study on Transport Mode Selection of Residents: An Empirical Analysis based on Mized Logit Model
Discrete Choice Model is widely used in the studies on transport mode selection. Avoiding the limitations of MNL Model, the Mixed Logit Model shows its advantage over the former. Transport modes for Beijing residents including Bus, rail transit (subway and urban light rail), taxi, private car, bicycle and mixed transit (interchange between public transit and taxi, interchange between private car and public transit). Transport mode selection of residents is influenced by factors such as household income, transport distance, cost, waiting time, etc. In this study, consumer data is obtained through field survey, and within the Discrete Choice Models, the Mixed Logit Model is applied to analyze the transport mode selection of residents. Revealing the characteristics of Beijing residents in selecting transport modes helps better forecasting how their selection changes when different affecting factors varies, it also provides relevant government departments with decision-making basis for transport policy.
