In order to quantitatively analyze the relationship between patent system and economic growth, this paper studies the theory ideas and establishes the econometric model to measure the contribution of patents to economic growth. Results indicate the elastic coefficient of patent is 0.1191, which means the number of national patents increasing 1% will lead to real GDP increase approximate 0.1191% if remaining other unchanged. The average annual growth rate for the Chinese patents is around 18% in recent years, according to this, the contribution of patent to real GDP is about 2.144%.
