A Shift-Share Analysis of Economics Growth and Structural Change in Jiangsu Province: 1978-2007
The authors divided the period between 1978 and 2007 into seven short periods according to the five-year plan of China, and conducted a shift-share analysis of economics growth and structural change in Jiangsu Province referring to the national economy. The empirical results show that the contribution of structural effect to economics growth in Jiangsu was less than the competitive effect mainly because the internal structures of the primary and tertiary industry were not quite reasonable, and its economics growth mainly rooted in the competitive advantages of the secondary and tertiary industry.
