Key Tactics of Porter’s General Strategies: Empirical Study of Jiangsu Manufacturing Industry
We analyzed the data collected from the 216 firms in Jiangsu manufacturing industry, probed into key tactics that had significantly positive impact on firm performance for Porter’s general strategies. In the mean while, we also investigated evolution of key tactics following firm’s lifecycle. The results are that: each general strategy has one or several key tactics, these key tactics are different for achieving finance or market performance. Key tactics evolve along with firm’s growth; most of their intensity have significant difference and go up gradually.
