Research on the District Technological Efficiency of Agricultural Production in Xinjiang
This paper uses the recent four years’ panel data of 84 counties in autonomous region, analyzes in Stochastic Frontier Analysis Approach (SFA) with Battese and Coelli (1992) model, and inspects the technological efficiency of agricultural production in Xinjiang’s 84 counties and cities. By using the frontier 4.1, we calculate the value of agricultural production technological efficiency of each 84 towns. We also analyze the changing trend of technological efficiency and the space distribution of technological efficiency. And we find that there are much potential for Xinjiang agricultural production. At the present situation of technology and market, the potential of output from land and fertilizer is limited, so it is a possible way to improve the agricultural production technological efficiency.
