Rapid Access to Digital Library Resources: Application of Knowledge Maps in E-Learning Environment in Graduate Education
How to use the information resources is a very important part of graduate education. Meanwhile digital libraries can provide instructors and students with a repository of digital resources that have been peer reviewed and checked for accuracy and authenticity. We take the knowledge maps as a tool to combine the digital resources and the e-Learning environment. Knowledge maps can integrate the related digital resources, which will make the way of looking for the resources and the relationship of knowledge turn to the form of map so that the learners can better understand it. In this process we use the RDF, ontology language, XML etc. standards and technology and digital library can provide API to the knowledge maps. The application of knowledge maps can construct the macrostructure of knowledge and help the graduates form their knowledge system and obtain knowledge. With the help of the knowledge maps, the graduates innovation ability will be trained well.
