Synthesis, Characterization and Anti-Pollution Property of Inorganic Coating
The electrical performance of porcelain insulators will be degraded by the accumulation of the airborne pollutants. In this paper, anti-pollution TiO2 coatings were prepared on the surface of the ceramic substrate through a simple hydrothermal method without high-temperature treatment. The morphology and structure of the coatings were characterized by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope. The results indicated that the TiO2 coatings have rutile structure and the morphologies of the coatings can be controlled by adjusting the reacting condition. The photocatalytic properties of the coatings with two kinds of morphologies were measured by ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrometer. It was found that the ceramic substrate with the TiO2 coating displays a good photocatalytic anti-pollution property and the microstructure of the coatings plays an important role in its photocatalytic self-cleaning capability.
