Air-Gap Discharge Remote Measuring with PMT Based Device
Existing ultraviolet (UV) corona detecting devices does not indicate amount of discharge directly. In order to overcome this disadvantage and suggest a possible method of discharge remote measurement, much work was done to deduce the relationship between corona discharge current and remotely measured signals. In this paper, A UV corona monitor based on photomultiplier tube (PMT) was used as the remote measuring device. Integral of PMT output pulses and amount of discharge was plotted in scattered diagrams which showed fine linearity. A method of determine discharge amount remotely using the integral value was suggested afterwards.
