EMPIRICAL STUDY ON THE RELATION BETWEEN SIZE AND R&D INPUT AND OUTPUT OF HIGH-TECH ENTERPRISES IN SHANDONG PROVINCE
Based on the questionnaire of the private high-tech enterprises in Shandong province, the different regression models have been adopted in order to explore the relationships between the enterprise size and R&D input and output. The regression models have proved that enterprise size has a U-shaped relationship with R&D input, and no correlation with R&D output. Such conclusion is not consistent with the Schumpeterian Hypotheses; it means that, as regards of the private high-tech enterprises in Shandong province, big private high-tech enterprises dont have demonstrated the obvious advantages in R&D input and output than the small ones.
