PUTTING ENTREPRENEURSHIP INTO MAINSTREAM ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION: DELIVERY, STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION

As a result of the growing recognition of entrepreneurship as a key driver of economic growth, the UK Government has sponsored a series of initiatives to boost entrepreneurship and to enhance enterprise culture. Despite an impressive track record in terms of encouraging and supporting entrepreneurial activities, little work has to date been done to incorporate the good practices of these initiatives into a pedagogic paradigm that might be shared more widely. This paper aims to address this knowledge gap by investigating good practices within a successful government initiative - NES (2001-2008) - and to assess its feasibility for incorporation into mainstream entrepreneurship education programs. The paper attempts to provide a platform for inquiries on entrepreneurship education in practice.
