The Schur complement and inverse M-matrices
It is well known that if A is an inverse M-matrix, then the Schur complement of any leading principle matrix of A is also an inverse M-matrix. However, the converse of this result is not true. I.N.Imam had given added restrictions to insure the converse Linear Algebra Appl., 62 (1984) 235-240. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for a nonnegative matrix to an inverse M-matrix, and obtain an analog of the converse without any restriction.
