The Projection Methods for Computing the Pseudospectra of Large Matriz
The projection methods and its variety, usually viewed as a method for computing eigenvalues, can also be used to estimate pseudospectra of large matrix. This paper proposes a kind of projection methods for computing the pseudospectra of large matrices, including the orthogonalization projection methods and the oblique projection methods. This possibility may be of practical importance,for in applications involving highly large nonnormal matrices. Numerical algorithms are given and some numerical experiments illustrate the efficiency of the new algorithms.
