A Study on Pedestrian Concentration in Commercial District Based on Accessibility and Space Syntaz:A Case Study in the Northern Part of Hezi New Town,Nanjing,China

Commerce is the most active economical activity in a city.The succession of commerce depends on whether theres enough pedestrian.Commercial and public service facilities should locate in places which are easy to be accessed.In this paper,effects of multilevel walking accessibility and local integration value of space syntax calculations on the pedestrian concentration is analyzed using the northern part of Hexi New Town of Nanjing,China as study area.The result shows physical distance and psychological cognition distance have different effects on peoples activities in reality at different levels.This conclusion call be used in planning processes and adjustments of urban morphology to guide pedestrian for better urban spatial development.
