ANTICORROSIVE BEHAVIOR OF SELF-CONSOLIDATING REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS AFTER CRACKED

This paper provides corrosion information of reinforced concrete (RC) with self-consolidating concrete (SCC) before and after concrete cracked. In order to investigate the corrosion behavior of the embedded steel in self-consolidating reinforced concrete (SCRC) beams. The SCC was mixed according to densified mixture design algorithm (DMDA), compacted into the molds for SCRC beams. The SCRC beam and ordinary RC. beam under marine environment and under repeated loading and crack were studied. The concrete resistivity, steel potential, corrosion rate and the change of concentration of the CI ion are measured with different admixtures. The results indicated that SCRC has higher resistivity than RC, the content of CI- ion and corrosion rate are lower than that before crack. The initial crack was appearance, the SCRC beam has small deflection and crack width, and the change of steel potential is small. Release the loading, the SCRC would self to close up the crack, and corrosion rate changed from corrodible to normal. However, along with the crack increases, each group of corrosion potential is growing, that corrosion will start as the crack formation, but if concrete with the addition of pozzolanic material it will reduce the corrosion symptom.
