STATE-OF THE ART IN POWER CONVERTER SYSTEMS FOR INDUSTRIAL INDUCTION HEATING APPLICATIONS
The aim of the paper is to present the different medium and high frequency industrial induction heating applications and its power systems. The paper will present power systems for applications in automotive industry, like bonding, in the manufacturing industry like tube welding and for other typical industrial heat treatment applications. Power systems comprise not only the power converter itself but also its controller as well as the process controller for the application, quality assurance and maintenance aid. The paper describes actual industrial power converters for the medium and high frequency applications, its controllers and process controllers.
