Dumping Resistor Schemes for Low Voltage Ride Through in CSC based PMSG Wind Energy System
Dumping resistor schemes for a current source converter (CSC) based permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind energy system are investigated in this paper. A scheme with series resistor in the dc link is proposed based on the analysis of low voltage ride through (LVRT) operation of the system and is suitable for low voltage ride-through strategy of the system. The simulation of a system with 2.47MW PMSG, and the laboratory experiment with 2kW PMSG have been carried out. The simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
