PMSM Compressor Control System based on SMO

A sensorless vector control system of PMSM is developed for air-conditioner compressors. SMO (Sliding Mode Observer) is used to estimate the position of the rotor magnet poles. In order to reduce the chattering of the system produced by the switching function control method, the saturation function control method is used. Position compensation strategy is analyzed which can compensate the angle error produced by LPF (Low Pass Filter). The experiment results show that the control system designed has good performance and can satisfy the demand of home appliances.
