Simplifying Diverse Automotive LED Lighting Applications with One Circuit Design
Today we see different designs in daylight running lamps (DRL), headlights, taillights, and signal lights using LEDs. These help bring more ‘personalization’ to different car models. However, the creative diversity of LED strings and matrix that behinds all these makes the LED driver circuit design more complex. This paper introduces one Buck-Boost circuit to simplify the design for driving various LED configurations. The IC in use is LM3423 LED driver with high side current sensing to achieve constant current, high efficiency and PWM dimming.
