An Essay on Improving International Disaster Relief

This brief essay is a follow-up to the remarks that I made last year at the Pan Pacific Business Association Conference in Costa Rica.There I pleaded for more public/private partnerships in the area of international disaster relief.This year,I would like to make a plea for creating more management teaching material and academic research as a foundation for the partnerships.Ill first argue that humanitarian disasters are increasing.Secondly,Ill describe some of the work that has been done to create better institutional frameworks and a unique program of partnerships.Finally,Ill outline a few academic considerations.
