Optimism in the Workplace

Optimism comes from the Latin word optimus,meaning best which describes how an optimist person is always looking for the best in any situation and expecting good things to happen.Optimism is the tendency to believe,expect or hope that things will turn out well.Optimism is the idea that there is always a positive outcome,no matter the situation.The paper cites some case studies.Both Delta Airlines and Starbucks Coffee,Chinas Summer Olympic games,Chinas recent space mission,Indias first unmanned Moon mission despite criticism provide examples of how optimism can have an effect on a companys or a countrys overall performance.Optimistic people indulge in positive thinking,are achievement/goaloriented explain good and events in their lives.Optimistic people view bad events/difficulties as temporary,limited and caused by something other than themselves.They face difficult times and adversity with hope.
