The Influence of Role Models on Entrepreneurial Intention in Thai State-sponsored Education
In any part of the world, the major players in the economy are entrepreneurs who create the business ventures. These ventures that are mostly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) create significant social and economic benefit to the society.During the economic crisis,SMEs even play more important role that many large corporations collapsed, especially in the Southeast Asia region, while many micro SMEs remained stable or even grew some. The economic collapse forced people and governments to search for new answers for the economy.Out of this search,a new emphasis on the role of SMEs arose,as seen by the Thai governments intensive promotion of the SME sector after the incidence (Sevilla & Soonthornthada 2000) through New Entrepreneur Creation (NEC) program.
