An Analytical Study of Innovation and Imitation Effects on Technology Adoption Based on Venkatramans Model

Previous MIS studies on technology adoption have shown that information and communication technology (ICT) adoption is influenced by innovation effects such as usefulness and ease of use,both of which emphasize utilitarian-oriented values.The majority of these studies have bypassed imitation effects such as subjective norms,word of mouth,and advertising,which are associated with cultural values,social networks,and hedonic-oriented values.And most of these studies are not longitudinal but cross-sectional.
